Let’s dive right in!
The WF96L is a water level controller designed to make your life easier 🌟. With this device, you can monitor and control water levels in various tanks, such as rainwater tanks, septic tanks, and industrial tanks. 🏡 While it may not be flashy, it’s efficient and reliable. ✅
🔍 What makes WF96L reliable?
Its internal components – the device features two processors:
- An 8-bit MCU for local control ⚙️
- A 32-bit MCU for Wi-Fi connectivity 🌐
This design ensures stability, even in demanding industrial environments. 🏭
🔧 Practical applications
The WF96L can be used in various scenarios:
- HVAC systems ❄️🔥
- Municipal drainage systems 🚰
- Irrigation systems 🌱
- Septic tanks 🚽
It offers four control modes:
- Adding water 🚰
- Water pumping 💦
- Time-limited water addition ⏱️
- Time-limited water pumping 🕒
This gives you complete flexibility in managing your water system. 💼
📲 Tuya Smart App Integration
Thanks to the integration with the Tuya Smart app, you can:
- Monitor water levels remotely from your smartphone 📱
- Set alarms for high and low water levels 🚨
- Share access to the device with other users 👥
Installation is straightforward, and its compact design with a DIN rail mounting option makes it suitable for various applications. 🔩
📦 What’s in the box?
The device is available in two versions:
- 220V ⚡
- 12V 🔋
I purchased the 220V version, which costs around $35 💰. I ordered it from AliExpress, and you can find the link in the video description. 🔗 The package also includes several measurement cables. Now, let’s take a closer look at the device. 👀
On the front panel, you’ll find terminals for connecting two control devices:
- The two left terminals are for the first device
- The next two are for the second device
- The two terminals on the right are for power supply 🔌
On top, there are six inputs for connecting the measurement cables. These cables will allow the device to detect the water level in the tank. In my case, I’ll only be using the water level monitoring feature without activating the relays. 🏗️
⚙️ Connecting the cables
To connect the measurement cables, follow this order:
- Blue cable – the shortest one, indicating 100% full 🌊
- Green – 75% 🌊
- Yellow – 50% 🌊
- Red – 25% 🌊
- White – the longest one, indicating the tank is empty 🚫💧
When connecting the power supply, make sure the neutral wire is on the left and the live wire is on the right. Once the device is powered on, the red light will start blinking, indicating it’s ready for Wi-Fi configuration. 📶
📲 Setting up in the Tuya Smart app
Open the Tuya Smart app and select the option to add a new device. To my surprise, the app automatically detected the WF96L controller – I didn’t have to manually search for it. 👍 Enter your Wi-Fi password, and after a few moments, the device is added. The red light on the controller will stop blinking and remain solid. 🔴
I renamed the device to “Water Level” for easier identification. In the app, you can now:
- Set alarms when the water level reaches 0% or 100% 🚨
- Enable automatic actions when the water level hits 25%, 50%, or 75% 💡
And that’s it! 😊 Now you have full control over your tank’s water level thanks to the WF96L Water Level Controller.
